Former world champion Rosendo Alvarez (37-3-2, 24KOs) of Nicaragua has announced that he plans to return to the ring on May 26 in Managua, on a card being organized by promoter Prodesa. According to Rosendo, he will face Alvaro Perez (21-4-1, 12KOs) in a ten round fight which is going to take place at super bantamweight. Rosendo is about to turn 42 years old, and the former champ has been inactive since Jorge "Travieso" Arce knocked him out in six rounds in 2006.
