Tepic, Nayatit, Mexico - Flyweight prospect Alonso "Finito" Lòpez (6-0, 3KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Juan Pedro Rodriguez. The scores were 40-36 on all three scorescards. Lopez is the the son of a Mexican legend, Ricardo "Finito" Lopez.
Alberto Rosas (31-5, 25 KOs) scored a huge upset when he captured the IBF super flyweight with a sixth round stoppage over previously undefeated Simphiwe Nongqayi (16-1-1, 6 KOs) of South Africa. Nongqayi's age finally caught up with him as he was battered until he went to a knee in a sixth round and the ref stopped the contest.
