Hot-shot Ronnie Heffron is learning from the best - gym-mates Frankie Gavin and Tony Bellew.

The Oldham prospect is unbeaten in two fights and his next appearance is on Saturday 3rd July at Preston's Guild Hall in a four-round contest.

And he's being helped along the way by 2007 Amateur World Champion Frankie Gavin and current Commonwealth light-heavyweight king Bellew, both of whom train with him at Anthony Farnell's Manchester set up.

"Being in the gym with the likes of Tony and Frankie is amazing," said teenage sensation Heffron.

"I was in awe of them the first time I walked through the door.

"Even though I'd won an ABA title myself, I was there being asked to work with Britain's only amateur world champion, and a guy who'd won three ABA titles at heavyweight.

"It was like being a little kid again on your first day at school.

"But everyone here made me feel right at home, especially Frankie.

"Seeing how he trains every day has made me get my head down and work as hard as I possibly can.

"It's inspiring, but daunting knowing how much I've got to give to get to the top.

"I've always wanted to be a world champion though and I'm going to do the hard yards to make sure that happens."

Since making his debut in December, Heffron, still only 19, has powered his way to two inside-the-distance victories.

"I can't wait for my next fight," said Heffron. "It's the best bit about being a boxer. You put in the hard work in the gym, and then you go out there and put everything into practice."

The quality-packed card, headlined by Michael Jennings versus John O'Donnell for the Vacant British Welterweight Champion, will also feature Tony Bellew's first Commonwealth Light-Heavyweight title defence, rising welterweight hot-shot Ronnie "The Razor" Heffron, former Commonwealth Light-Middleweight Champion Matthew Hall, and Liverpool stars Joe Selkirk and Liam Smith.
