Unbeaten welterweight prospect Ronald Cruz will meet former WBA 140-lbs. champion Vivian Harris in Philadelphia’s Asylum Arena on Sept. 9.
“Cruz is going to be fighting Vivian Harris, and it’s a step up for him,” said Don Chargin, who will co-promote the event with Russell Peltz.
The 24-year-old Cruz (13-0, 10 KOs), from Bethlehem, Pa., via Puerto Rico, has reeled off a six-bout stoppage streak punctuated by a sixth-round technical knockout of veteran Doel Carrasquillo in July.
Meanwhile, Harris (29-7-1, 19 KOs), of Brooklyn via Guyana, has dropped four in a row, including three stoppage losses before a ten-round unanimous decision defeat to Lanardo Tyner last month.
The eight-rounder will serve as the TeleFutura Solo Boxeo co-feature to Gabriel Rosado’s Pennsylvania state light middleweight title bout against Keenan Collins.
