Former champion Danny Romero, who recently began a boxing comeback, has begun serving a 30-day drunk-driving sentence.
Romero agreed to plea deal, where he got 90 days in jail, with 60 days suspended as long as he doesn't have another offense for year. Romero surrendered on July 14 in order to begin serving 30 days in a community-custody program. He must also attend a first-offender program, complete DWI school and going to a victim-impact meeting.
There is no word if Romero plans to continue his comeback after meeting all the sentence requirements.
