According to overseas reports, the former WBO champion at 130 pounds, Roman 'Rocky' Martinez, is going to sign a promotional pact with Top Rank, which is going to bring life to his flagging career. Martinez's contract recently expired with Puerto Rico Best Boxing, but the two sides have been debating over how much time is actually remaining on their agreement because Martinez was sidelined earlier this year with an injury. Peter Rivera, vice president of Puerto Rico Best Boxing, is bringing Top Rank into the fold as a co-promoter to resign the young contender.

Martinez, with a 24-1-1, 15 knockouts record, has been inactive since losing the WBO super featherweight crown last September to Ricky Burns in Glasgow, Scotland.
