The former super featherweight champion of the WBO, Roman "Rocky" Martinez (28-0-1, 21KOs), who returns after a year-long layoff on Saturday night in Puerto Rico, doesn't expect to face WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios on December 3rd, as part of the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito undercard. Martinez has no problem making 130-pounds. He would require a few fights at 135 to get adjusted to the weight, then take a fight with Rios.

"Of course I'll be stronger at that weight. I would have to meet with them [Top Rank] to know what their plans are [for me]. Right now I'm a natural 130-pounder. Rios is a very strong fighter and I would need a great preparation, at least several months to fight a guy of that caliber. Also, I would have to do a few fights at 135 to acclimatise to that weight," explained Martinez.
