Nicaraguan boxer Román "Chocolatito" Gonzalez looks motivated towards the next defense of his World Boxing Association flyweight crown, scheduled for October 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I've been told that I would face a Filipino and the opponent I'm preparing to face is the brother of Nonito Donaire (Glenn Donaire). If it's not him, I go against anyone, I have no problem," Gonzalez said. "Thank God I know that good things are coming in my career. And so I'm training hard to [make a statement] so I can fight again in America, "he said.

"Fighting in the United States, I have to open up more doors to the fans worldwide so people look at me and recognize my quality."

Gonzalez is going through an important stage in his life, as a world champion and as a father. A few weeks ago his wife gave birth to his second child, his first son, who bears his name.

"Now everything I do is for my children, my family. My child was born on July 28, he's tiny. A child is the most beautiful thing one can have," he reiterated.

Gonzalez fights on the same evening where Rafael Marquez will face Japan's Toshiaki Nishioka, WBC super bantamweight champion.
