Hamburg, Germany - Middleweight Roman Aramian retained the Int´l German title with a ninth round stoppage of Ebubukir Bulut in one of the two headliners at Arena Box Promotion´s big gym show. Aramian suffered a flash knockdown at the end of the first but then outworked the challenger, who however came back in the seventh. But then at the end of the eighth Aramian landed with a right upercut and Bulut was out on his feet at the end of the round. It should perhaps been stopped right there. Instead Bulut came out for the ninth round and was tko´d.
Giant Belarus Alexander Ustinov won the vacant Int´l German heavyweight title with a first round demolition job of Vitaly Shkraba, who replaced Pedro Carrion on very short notice after a financial dispute. Ustinov, a former K-1 battler, came out fast and didn´t let go until it was stopped.
Heavyweight Goran Gogic scored a good win in outpointing Cisse Salif over eight. Salif shook Gogic in the fourth but was generally outboxed.
Mahir Oral, down in the third, outscored Murat Mahmudov in another eight rounder, middleweights.
Cuban heavy Odlanier Solis won a four round unanimous decision over Swede Aldo Colliander. It was scored 40-36, 40-36 and 39-37 after an interesting fight. Colliander showed slick moves and coolness under fire. Solis, fresh off two first round KO wins, wasn´t at all exposed - he showed patience, ability to adapt and change his style. It was said he hadn´t been able to train properly due to a leg injury. Aldo was of course
quick to reply that he hadn´t been able to prepare properly either and asked for a rematch.
Yuriorkas Gamboa, at lightweight, swept aside brave Chilean Joel Mayo via second round tko.
Heavyweight Steffen Kretschmann impressed in taking apart Croatian spoiler Ivica Perkovic with a fourth round tko.
Russian Sergey Sorokin outscored Croatian Ante Bilic over eight in the show opener in a fight made at welter, which meant that Sorokin stepped up in weight while Bilic stepped down. Sorokin floored Bilic in the second but had problems with his opponent´s strenght
throughout.
In the show closer heavyweight Willi Fisher returned and won over Ukrainian Alexander Mileiko in a slow paced six rounder.
