The disappointing performance of Filipino boxers in Japan continues with the loss of super featherweight Roel Mangan in a six round bout against 29 year old southpaw Junji Murakami at the Koreakuen Hall in Tokyo.

It was Mangan’s second defeat in a row having earlier lost to Thailand’s Yoddamrong Sithyodthong also by a unanimous six round decision last July 15.

Murakami on the other hand was coming off an impressive second round knockout victory over fellow Japanese Takuya Suzuki last May 21. The hard-hitting southpaw reportedly has a record of 13-3-1 with 5 KO’s.
