Boxing man Rod Nazario is now back at home after checking out of the Asian Hospital in Alabang, Muntinlupa on Saturday.
Nazario underwent a quadruple bypass last week performed by the renowned heart surgeon Dr. George Garcia and is reported well on the way to recovery.
Nazario was pleasantly surprised the other day when he received a call from President Arroyo who asked him to get well soon and informed him that she was praying for his recovery. Nazario said it was a nice gesture on the part of President Arroyo.
The well-known boxing man is best remembered for having steered the career of Filipino ring idol Manny Pacquiao who, under Nazario’s care won two world titles – the WBC flyweight championship when he knocked out Chatchai Sasakul in the seventh round in December 1998 and demolished IBF junior featherweight champion Lelohonolo Ledwaba in six rounds on June 23, 2001.
