Knock out of the Year: Donald Cobb KO1 Jason Anderson
By Leann ‘Boxing Chick’ Perez
They call him “Dangerous” Donald Cobb for a reason. Cobb has a built that just screams knockout. So when we saw his opponent for the September 19th bout at Salon Madrid, I expected fireworks. Cobb’s opponent came in just as tall, just as broad, and trained MMA which gave him tree trunks for legs. But big trees fall hard, as Cobb came in quickly in round one and quickly put his opponent down on the canvas. Anderson didn’t make it up for the ten count, and left the ring as quickly as he walked in.
Knockout of the Year: ‘Dynamite’ Donald Cobb KO Smith

Was in a tough bout with Jordan Smith before Cobb delivered a picture perfect right hand check-hook for the one punch round 3 KO.
Knockout of the Year: Donald Cobb KO Jordan Smith

It was a entertaining bout as Smith wasn’t brought in for a hometown feasting. It was an evenly matched bout until Cobb clocked Smith a check right hook. Smith was out before he hit the canvass.
Lopez v Hernandez
Knockout of the Year: Lopez TKO Hernandez
By Chris Morris
Manuel Lopez hit Emilio Hernandez with everything, including the kitchen sink, but he refused to back down or go down. Hernandez stated before the fight that Colorado fans would remember his name and boy do we ever. Hernandez had minimal success on the offensive side, but he did land some telling shots. His resolve and will to win was unmatched. Lopez landed bomb after bomb after bomb and Hernandez kept coming. Eventually Hernandez was saved from himself by referee Curtis Thrasher. I would have liked to see Lopez refocus his attack to the body as it became evident, you could hit Hernandez in the chin with a hammer and he would still be standing. I would like to see Hernandez in with guys like Antonio Solarzano and maybe Antonio Diaz. Lopez looks to be ready for the next level in competition. A showdown between Lopez and Alfred Romero would be a tantalizing treat for the Alvarado-Rios III undercard.
