Last Saturday night in Houston, Texas, Rocky Juarez had yet another title opportunity and was once again unable to capture a belt. He fought to a draw with WBA featherweight champion Chris John. Speaking with BoxingScene.com’s Ernest Gabion, Juarez felt that he may have given away too many rounds in the middle and that made the fight a lot closer.

“I haven’t gotten over that hump. Unfortunately I didn't win the world title in front of my fans in Houston. It isn’t a loss. It's a draw and you learn to accept it. I felt that I won the fight. I felt that maybe I had given up a few rounds that I shouldn’t have and that may be my fault. Either way I felt I won the fight. I felt it was pretty close because he was just touching me and it kept pissing me off,” Juarez said.

“He never hurt me once in the fight. I know he caught me good with the right hand. I felt that once I started to let my punches go, I was hurting him. I thought that I almost had him out in the later rounds. He's a good fighter and he can take a good shot. It was a good showing for the fans.”

Juarez would like to have a rematch with John, or even a rematch with Juan Manuel Marquez, who beat him by way of a wide decision in 2007.

“I would prefer a rematch or anybody that has a world title. That's just my goal. I wish I had the belt to where I could fight with an Israel Vazquez, a Rafael Marquez or even Marquez. Even if I had to jump up to 135-pounds. When I fought Marquez I got cut in the first round. It was a headbutt and it bled the whole fight. He never hurt me in the fight. I've been unfortunate and I’ve been cut from my goal,” Juarez said.
