Hard-hitting Rocky Fuentes of the famed ALA Gym has just retained his Oriental and Pacific Boxing Federation flyweight title with an 11th round TKO over aggressive and power-punching world-rated Japanese Shigetaka Ikehara at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.

Fuentes was reportedly hurt and groggy in rounds 4 and 5 but weathered the onslaught of the 28 year old Japanese who entered the ring with a record of 16 knockouts in 20 wins with only 1 loss and 2 draws and then battered the Japanese who quit in round eleven.

Ikehara was ranked No. 13 by the WBA and No. 14 by the WBC and came into prominence when he scored a stunning 3rd round TKO over highly touted Shingo Yamaguchi last November 30, 2009.

With the win Fuenetes who won the title with a majority decision over another Japanese Masafumi Okubo last March 9, 2010 improves to 26-6-2 with 16 knockouts.
