Rocky Fielding To Return On October 15 In Liverpool

Rocky Fielding has been handed a return date.

The Liverpool super-middleweight has been out of the ring since April when he outpointed Christopher Rebrasse to win the vacant WBC International title.

Fielding, whose win against Rebrasse represented his first fight since being blown out inside a round by Callum Smith last November, has a ring record of 22-1 (12 KOs) and he will look to add to that when he comes back to the squared circle, exclusively live on Sky Sports.

He is set to feature on the undercard of Tony Bellew’s first WBC cruiserweight title defence at the ECHO Arena in Liverpool on October 15.

An opponent for the return of the 29-year-old has yet to be revealed and it remains to be seen which title, if any, will be on the line in the fight.

Up to now, it has been confirmed that two-time British lightweight title challenger Sean Dodd will defend his WBC International crown on the card, with Dewsbury’s Gary Sykes the front-runner to be in the opposite corner, while WBC super-middleweight world title mandatory challenger Callum Smith (20-0, 15 KOs) and his brother Stephen Smith, the WBC Silver super-featherweight champion, are both expected to feature on the bill alongside former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion David Price, who returned with a stoppage victory on May 29.

The show’s promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, is expected to officially disclose the full details of the bill, including ticket information and further names, next week.
