Former WBO super middleweight champion Robert Stieglitz (48-5-1, 28 KOs) is planning a full run at a world title at light heavyweight.
Stieglitz quietly returned to the ring on October 17th, when he tested the waters at 175, and stopped 6-1 fighter Robert Rosenberg in two rounds.
Back in July, Stieglitz met Arthur Abraham for the fourth time in their rivalry. Abraham closed the book on that series with a dominant six round stoppage.
Stieglitz's promoter, Ulf-Steinforth of SES, says the fighter could make a big impact at 175-pounds. He says Stieglitz was having difficulties in making the super middleweight limit of 168 for the Abraham bout.
"Robert is still a large figure on the scene," Steinforth told Jorg Lubrich. "Robert had major problems in maintaining his weight. The fight with the pounds had robbed him of a lot of his strength. At a higher limit, he won't has these problems."
