The Nordic Nightmare, heavyweight Robert Helenius, now 22-1, suffered a tough loss Saturday night in Helsinki against very tough Frenchman Johann Duhaupas (34-3). Helenius lost by way of a sixth round knockout.
"Robert was overtrained and made some minor mistakes in the training leading up to the fight," states Robert´s father Kalle, who is assistant trainer.
In the fight it seemed as if Helenius connected very well and a less durable fighter than Duhaupas would have gone down but the Frenchman took everything coming his way and kept coming and the pace took a toll on the big Finn, who appeared to be tiring in the sixth when Duhaupas connected with a solid one-two combination and it was over.
Helenius will be back July 2 in Mariehamn (Finland) against an opponent to be announced.
