Mariehamn: The Nordic Nightmare is back! Heavyweight Robert Helenius (23-1, 14KOs) knocked out German Konstantin Airich (23-18) 49 seconds into the first round with a right uppercut to the body in the headliner of the show billed as the Viking Rises.

Icelandic heavyweight Gunnar Kolbeinn Kristinsson (7-0) stopped big Georgian David Gegeshidze (19-16-1) 1.17 into the fourth of a scheduled six-rounder. It was a one-sided fight with Gegeshidze mainly in it to survive.

Finland-based Cuban light heavyweight Dayron Lester (7-0) outscored a very good opponent in the Czech Tomas Adamek (25-14-2). Lester was floored in the seventh but returned the favour in the eighth and won on scores of 77-74, 77-73 and 78-73.

Female middleweight Sanna Turunen turned pro with second round stoppage of Latvian lady Aliana Neibauere.

Finnish welterweight Timo-Juhani Hirvikangas stopped Hungarian Richard Horvath nine seconds into the second round. Hirvikangas landed with a right uppercut in the first that broke Horvath´s jaw and he had to retire.

Light heavyweight Armend Latifi opened the Paf Boxing event at the Baltichall in Mariehamn with a unanimous decision over German veteran Mazen Gierke. The judges all had it 40-36. It was Latifi´s prodebut and a beat a 100 fight veteran - mainly losses at a lower weight but still.
