The mighty have fallen hard at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, British Columbia. Robert Hawkins (23-10, 7KOs), considered by many as a journeyman heavyweight, who also took the fight on late notice, outworked a lackluster Dominick Guinn (28-6-1, 19KOs) to win a ten-round unanimous decision. The scores were 97-93, 99-91 and 100-90.
It was only a few years ago that Guinn was considered one of the best heavyweight prospects in the division, and HBO was pushing him toward a showdown with Joe Mesi.
