Copenhagen, Denmark - Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero won the vacant IBF 126 lb title by stopping Dane Spend Abazi, who didn´t come out for the ninth round. Abazi was floored in the third and fifth rounds and was under pressure in the eighth. A bad cut over the right eye caused by a punch just before the knockdown in the fifth didn´t help him either and after the eighth refereee Mark Nelson, the ringside doctor and Spend´s cornermen decided to stop it.
Abazi was well behind on points after eight but had put up a very brave performance. Guerrero started slowly in the first but came out smokin´ in the second and landed well with his powerful southpaw left. Spend was shaken, came back well back but was caught in the third and went down. He survived the knockdown and worked his way into the fight but was floored again in the fifth. The taller, bigger Guerrero had just a little too much of everything for Abazi.
Jr. middleweight Reda Zam Zam won a unanimous decision after eight over tough Russian veteran Maxim Nesterenko. Nesterenko, badly cut, was close to being stopped in the seventh but lasted the distance.
Cruiserweight Anders Hugger won clearly over Portugese Antonio Quincanga over six, but didn´t impress.
Female amateur star Vinnie Skovgaard looked good in her debut winnning over Croatian Ksenija Koprek over four, jr. welterweights.
