It's been officially announced that former featherweight champion Robert Guerrero (22-1-1, 15 KOs) will officially make his return to the ring, facing Edel Ruiz (31-21-4, 22 KOs) on January 24 undercard to Antonio Margarito-Shane Mosley at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Ruiz is tuneup opponent for Guerrero to shake off the rust. He lost seven of his last ten fights.
Guerrero is coming off an 11-month layoff. He stayed on the shelf while battling with ex-promoter Dan Goossen over his contract with Goossen Tutor. Guerrero was able to break free via arbitration and signed on with Golden Boy Promotions.
