Former champion Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios has already stated that he's willing to head up to 154-pounds for the right money and the right fight, which includes a catch-weight bout with WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto. Rios' name has been mentioned, along with former champion Timothy Bradley, as possible options to face Cotto in June.

Cotto has been inactive since last June's TKO of Sergio Martinez and Rios returned to the ring in January when he demolished Mike Alvarado.

"It has been mentioned as a possibility, and that is a challenge that Brandon would be willing to accept. Although there are others like Juan Manuel Marquez who would be attractive to us. Undoubtedly facing someone like Cotto would be pleasing to the fans, said Garcia to Carlos Gonzalez.

"If the offer is a good purse for Brandon, I see no reason why it can not be done. Brandon is strong, motivated and there is long rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico. It would be a war. I would wish for it to take place at a catch-weight. Brandon would be willing to go to either 154 or 155 pounds, but we recognize that Cotto is the one who sets the guidelines. Cotto is the star, has the name and he's the champion."
