Middleweight contender Rob Brant will face Alexis Hloros Friday night, promoter Greg Cohen told BoxingScene.com.

The 10 round bout will take place at the Grand Casino in Hinkley, Minnesota, about an hour's drive from Brant's hometown of Saint Paul.

Brant was originally scheduled to face George Carter, but Cohen said Carter backed out of the fight last week after suffering an injury during training camp.

"It's unfortunate, but we were able to secure an opponent for Rob," said Cohen. "It so happened Alexis was training for a fight when we gave him a call."

Brant (21-0, 14 KOs) knocked out Chris Fitzpatrick in the third round of his last bout on August 5. The 26-year-old Brant defeated fringe contenders Louis Rose and Decarlo Perez in recent televised bouts.

He is ranked number three by the WBA and number five by the WBO.

Hloros (18-5-2, 12 KOs) has won his last two bouts after a three and a half year hiatus from the ring. He had lost three of his previous five bouts.

Hard-hitting junior middleweight Skender Halili (12-1, 12 KOs) will face Romon Barber (7-12, 6 KOs) in a six round bout.

Junior lightweight Duarn Vue (10-0-2, 3 KOs) and Lance Williams (7-6, 7 KOs) square off in an eight round bout.

Featherweight Gavino Guaman (4-1) will face unbeaten Ramiro Hernandez (8-0, 7 KOs) in a six round bout.
