Boxing will return to the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California on August 5th with a card that will be staged by Greg Cohen Promotions and broadcast by CBS Sports Network.
"The main event is going to be Rob Brant, the co-feature is Mason Menard,"Cohen told BoxingScene.com..
Brant is a young, rising middleweight from Minnesota who scored an eye-opening one-punch knockout of DeCarlo Perez on January 22nd on Shobox and then followed that up with a first round stoppage of Delray Raines on April 15th.
Cohen says,"I think Rob Brant is one of the best middleweight prospects, right now, he's 20-0 (13 KO's). We're looking at six-to-twelve months for a world title shot for Rob. Every test he's had he's passed with flying colors."
Meanwhile Menard (31-1, 23 KO's), who is a lightweight, had one of the most spectacular knockouts of 2016 in starching Eudy Bernardo with a single over-hand right on April 15th in a bout that was on 'ShoBox.'
"He became an overnight sensation, he's a huge puncher, he's exciting, he's a good looking kid. He's the total package. How can you not be excited about him?" said Cohen.
