Celebrity Theater, Phoenix, Arizona - For the vacant WBC Continental Americas middleweight title, Rob Brant (18-0, 11KOs) had all he could handle in winning a close ten round majority decision over upset artist Louis Rose (13-2-1, 5KOs) . The scores were 95-95, 96-94, 96-94.
The rounds were close with Brant squeaking a minor edge in some of them. Despite getting hurt a few times, Rose was never in serious trouble and made things very difficult by making Brant work extremely hard in every single round. Brant was landing the more appealing punches, but Rose was throwing a higher volume of shots with over 120 in the tenth round alone.
Heavyweight prospect collided with unbeaten heavyweight prospect Jarrell Miller (15-0-1, 13KOs) knocked out Akhror Muralimov (16-2, 13KOs) in three rounds.
Some big shots were big being exchanged in the first and second round. Muralimov was getting the better of the exchanges in the first and Miller was getting off better during the second. Both fighters were already breathing heavy after two.
In the third, a hard straight right hand caught Muralimov and made him crumble to his knees for the full count.
Opening up the ShoBox televised tripleheader with a light heavyweight bout, Samuel Clarkson (17-3, 11KOs) demolished Lavarn Harvell (15-2, 8KOs) in two rounds.
Both fighters were getting in their shots at close range. During a good exchange, Clarkson clipped Harvell short right hook which put him down for the first time. In the closing seconds, a hard combination that was punctuated by a right hook from Carkson dropped Harvell for a second time in the contest.
At the start of the second, Clarkson came out like a demon and battered Harvell with a series of hard shots against the ropes and put him down hard - and nearly out. Harvell barely made it to his feet. Harvell was stumbling and unsteady on his feet, and his corner threw in the towel.
