Trainer Freddie Roach has changed his position on the outcome of the November 14 showdown between Manny Pacquaio and WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. Roach had predicted a decision win for Pacquiao. His position on the outcome has changed. After traveling over to Baguio City to start training Pacquiao for the fight, Roach was so impressed with Manny's early work in the gym that he changed his mind.

“I picked him to win by decision, but until I started working with him in this camp, the way he’s punching, his speed, we will knock this guy out,” Roach told Dennis Principe at The Inquirer .

A knockout is very realistic. Cotto plans to come out fast. Pacquiao plans to come out fast. Roach wants Pacquiao to blitz Cotto with speed and punches to the body in the early rounds. He doesn't want Cotto to get any kind of momentum going.

“Basically, we’re going to have a fast start and we’re not going to give him any momentum,” Roach said.
