Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach is predicting a lot of pain and punishment, if WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) is able to get Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 31KOs) in the ring. There are ongoing negotiations for a fight between Cotto and Canelo for the lucrative Cinco De Mayo date of May 2nd.
Roach sees Canelo as the perfect opponent for the Puerto Rican champion. He thinks Cotto is going to bust up the young Mexican star.
"I would love that fight for Miguel. I hope it happens. It's a great fight. Canelo is a pretty boy, but he won't be pretty for much longer if we fight him," Roach told BoxingScene.com.
