The next ring appearance for WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan is being lined up for December 11, according to a recent report on BoxingScene.com. The Reeklama paper spoke with Khan's trainer Freddie Roach, who confirmed his fighter will likely return in the month of December.

Several names are being mentioned for Khan's December fight, including WBO interim-lightweight champion Michael Katsidis, the winner of Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz on July 31, and WBA interim-junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.

Roach prefers Maidana, stating "I would like to fight Maidana because everyone said we were afraid to fight him. Amir is not afraid to fight anyone. He can beat Maidana. He can beat [Timothy] Bradley and [Devon] Alexander."
