Former champion Juan Manuel Lopez (32-2, 29 KO's), who on February 2 made his first start in nearly 11 months, most likely will return in April before a "super fight" between July and September as announced by Peter Rivera, vice president of PR Best Boxing Promotions.
"As for Juanma, he will probably have a tuneup fight next. If there is no worthwhile fight out there, I won't let him sit around idle. I have the opportunity to make a really big fight with him between July and September and up until that point I won't let him sit around idle," Rivera said.
This past weekend, Lopez faced Aldimar Santos Silva of Brazil and stopped him in nine rounds, but not before sending him to the canvas three times.
