McAllen, Texas -- Unbeaten lightweight Brandon Rios of Oxnard, Ca. is looking to get off to a quick start on Saturday night.

"We're in tough, taking on Jorge Luis Teron," said Robert Garcia, chief trainer for Rios. "The game is to jump right on Teron and get off to a quick start and not let up. Teron is a pretty big puncher. Our first goal is be aggressive and get control of the fight."

Rios vs. Teron is the main event on a Top Rank Live! show televised live on Fox Sports Espanol (10 pm eastern, 7 pm pacific) at the Convention Center.

Rios has a record of 23-0-1, 16 KOs. Teron is 23-1-1, 15 KOs. He lives and trains in the Bronx, N.Y. Rios has been working Alfonso Gomez as his chief sparring partner in Oxnard.

"Brutally tough workouts. Rios and Gomez went at it," said Garcia. "The good thing is that Rios trained very hard and he is very sharp." Rios and Teron will box 10 rounds, for the vacant NABF Lightweight Championship. Rios is managed by Cameron Dunkin of Las Vegas.

 === Mike Rathje, a former defenseman for the NHL San Jose Sharks and Philadelphia Flyers, is the manager of Juan Ruiz who takes on Tomas Villa in the opening bout on the telecast. Ruiz, 23-5, 7 KOs, is from Newhall, Calif. Villa, a very popular fighter here, has a record of 20-6-4, 13 KOs. He is from Midland, Texas.
