BoxingScene.com has been advised that despite earlier reports that a junior welterweight fight between Juan Manuel Marquez (54-6-1, 39KOs) and Zab Judah (42-7, 29KOs) is being discussed for July 14th at Cowboys Stadium in Texas, former champion Brandon Rios (30-0-1, 22KOs) is still very much an option for Marquez.

Last month's split-site pay-per-view was put together by Top Rank to build a July meeting between Marquez and Rios. In the main event from Mexico, Marquez won the WBO's interim-junior welterweight title with a twelve round decision over Sergey Fedchenko. However, Rios struggled to make weight and won a controversial decision over Richard Abril in the lightweight co-feature.

While Judah is confident he will land the fight with Marquez, Rios is still being heavily considered for the spot.
