At the Auditorio Municipal in Tijuana, Mexico, super featherweight Joksan Hernandez (21-2, 14 KOs) stopped late replacement Ira Terry (24-4, 14 KOs) in the first round. Terry was the original opponent and was later replaced with Marlon ‘Rata’ Aguilar. Then Aguilar was replaced back to Terry after the fighter's tickets were not purchased in time for him reach Tijuana for the contest.
In his first fight as a Top Rank boxer, super bantamweight Guillermo Rigondeaux (6-0, 5 KOs) stopped Jose Angel Beranza (33-19-2, 26 KOs) after six rounds of damage. Bernaza went down twice in the fourth and couldn't continue after the sixth. Rigondeaux, regarded as one of the best amateur boxers of all-time and a two-time Olympic gold medal winner, is going to be in the mix for big fights in 2011.
