Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11KOs) calmly waiting through the period of negotiations to see if he will finally face the mandatory challenger to his World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight title, Mexico's Moises Flores.
The two-time Olympic gold medal winner was in action last month when he traveled to the UK and got an easy win by breaking the jaw of Jazza Dickens in two rounds.
"One more victory to remain undefeated and now I take a break before facing the next opponent. We will see who dares to step up, because after breaking the jaw of this guy I don't think many people dare to step up," Rigondeaux told George Ebro.
Rigondeaux feels the style of Flores is built for him and will make him look good when they meet.
"I do not know much about him, but I know he's a good boxer, aggressive. At least he says the right things, he wants to fight me, he would love to fight me... to me he seems to be perfect for me because of his style with coming forward. That type of style makes me look good," Rigondeaux said.
Two weeks ago there was a 'Fight of The Year' battle between Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz. Frampton won a twelve round decision to capture the WBA featherweight title.
Rigondeaux says Frampton not only avoided him, he dropped the WBA title.
"Look at the case of Frampton. He had an obligation to stand against me and said no, and avoided me to the point of giving up his championship belt. In the case of Santa Cruz, well the whole family told him to avoid me and the boy obeys . What can I do," Rigondeaux said.
