A press conference was held in  Tokyo to officially announce that Japanese OPBF featherweight champion (IBF Eastern and Pacific) Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-2 19 KOs), 29-years-old and from the Yamagami Boxing Gym, will get a crack at one of the best fighters in the sport - World Boxing Organization (WBO) and World Boxing Association super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KOs), 34-years-old.

The fight takes place on the 31st of December at the Badmaker Colosseum in the city of Osaka, where there will be another world championship fight when the former world strawweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF ), Katsunari Takayama (27-7, 10 KOs), will go for the vacant IBF crown against Go Odaira (11-3-3, 1 KO ) of the Hanagata Boxing Gym in Yokohama.

On the same card, local favorite and former world flyweight champion straw Kazuto Ioka (15-1, 9 KOs), 25 and of the Ioka Boxing Gym in Osaka, be measured against an ex-interim world champion, Venezuelan Jean Piero Perez (20-7-1, 14 KOs), 33-years-old, in a ten round contest.
