According to the Press Gazette , Ricky Hatton's adviser and legal counsel Gareth Williams has launched a legal action against Frank Warren and British paper, The Sun , over a November column called “Fatty Ricky should give it up.”
Williams is claiming damages based on libel. He claims Hatton's former promoter made a claim that Williams was pushing Hatton to return to ring with the high risk of serious injury being a good possibility. Williams claims his his personal and professional reputation has been seriously injured and he suffered acute distress and embarrassment. Williams, through his attorneys Simons Muirhead and Burton, are also looking for an injunction banning repetition of the allegations.
