Fighter turned promoter, Ricky Hatton, has no interest in fighting WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. If Hatton were to fight again, a battle with Khan would be one of the biggest money fights in British boxing history. Hatton predicted a dominating win for Khan in last Saturday's fight against Paulie Malignaggi. Hatton stopped Malignaggi in 2008.

"Just as he did when I fought him, Malignaggi had plenty to say before the fight, however, unlike that other great talker Floyd Mayweather, Malignaggi does not have the talent to back up his pre-fight boasts," Hatton wrote in the Manchester Evening News.

Hatton would like to promote Khan and help him become a bigger star. Strange to hear Hatton say that. The Manchester star is promoted by Golden Boy Promotions, who recently signed Khan to a promotional deal. According to several reports, Khan's deal with Golden Boy is a three-fight package. Hatton might make a move to land Khan when that deal runs out.

"I am sure Amir will want to fight in Las Vegas - it is a tremendous buzz seeing your name in lights on the famous strip - however, my advice would be to have a big fight in England this summer. Of all the great nights I have had, fighting in front of 58,000 people at the City of Manchester Stadium a couple of years ago is something I'm immensely proud of and will always have a special place in my heart," Hatton said.

"There will be a lot of paper-talk of Amir fighting myself, but I would much prefer to promote him and am certain with my help he can become the big star that his talent deserves."
