When WBA heavyweight champion David Haye defends his title against mandatory challenger John Ruiz on Saturday night in Manchester, an army of British fighters will be at ringside to show their support.

Former champion Ricky Hatton is one of the many fighters who plans to attend. Hatton has a lot of faith in Haye. Former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis was a hero in the country. Hatton viewed Lewis as a hero, but relates better to Haye's because of his fighting style and personality. He thinks Haye can be the fighter to lead the way for British boxing in the new decade.

“Lennox was a great fighter and a hero of mine but David is more up my street. He goes for the knockout and takes chances. He can fly the flag for British boxing," Hatton told Daily Express.
