Ricky Hatton continues to drop hints that he plans to return to the ring. Daily Express reports that Hatton is no longer accepting any after-dinner speaking contracts. The Manchester star had been making a lot of money with the appearances. The paper reports that Hatton's refusal to accept any side gigs is a sure sign that he plans to start training full time for a ring return.
Hatton has not fought since last May's two-round knockout loss to Manny Pacquiao. Juan Manuel Marquez, who returns on May 1 in Las Vegas, was listed as the frontrunner to fight Hatton. Reports continue that Hatton is seriously overweight and there are continued doubts that he can be fit for a fight like Marquez by May. Then there is the issue with the WBO. They are pushing Marquez to defend his lightweight title against mandatory challenger Michael Katsidis.
