Michael Jennings, who took a beating for five rounds at the hands of Miguel Cotto last Saturday in New York, says countryman Ricky Hatton has what it takes to beat Cotto. After the win over Jennings, Cotto called for the winner of Manny Pacquiao vs. Hatton - taking place on May 2 in Las Vegas.
"If the winner of Pacquaio and Hatton wants to fight, I'm always here to fight them," Cotto said.
The winner of Pacquiao-Hatton will not be the next move for Cotto. Pacquiao-Hatton takes place in May and Cotto returns in June. A bout between Cotto and the winner of Pacquiao-Hatton is a potential fight to close out the year. Jennings is picking Hatton to beat Pacquiao, and he also picks him to beat Cotto. He would be willing to give Hatton advice but doesn't think the Manchester star will want it.
"It would be a great fight and I think Ricky can win if they meet later in the year. If Ricky wanted any advice from me I would give it, but he might not want it after seeing what happened to me," Jennings told Daily Mail .
