According to The Daily Mail, a British holidaymaker claims that former two division world champion Ricky Hatton took part in a brutal beating that left him hospitalized.
The bar patron, Stephen O'Hagan, was on holiday in Tenerife and claims Hatton and his friends attacked him at a local pub.
O'Hagan spent four days in a hospital and was left with a broken jaw, eye socket, nose and wrist. The 47-year-old also said he lost several teeth after Hatton and his friends allegedly attacked after he made a joke about Manchester City losing a football game.
The incident is alleged to have taken place on August 13, after Manchester City beat Sunderland 2-1 . Mr O'Hagan claims to have been in an Irish bar next to Hatton - who lives in the Spanish holiday resort - and a man thought to have been his cousin.
Mr O'Hagan told The Sun he made a joke about Manchester City, the club Hatton supports, adding: 'Hatton made a face to a pal beside him, who started shoving me.'
He told the paper the man with Hatton 'attacked' him as he went to leave, before another two men joined in. He alleges that Hatton then began stomping on his head. He says Hatton fled the scene before the cops arrived.
He said: 'They turned me, put me down, stomped all over my head then chucked me out. He just gave me dirty looks and set about me again. He sat on me and my head was his punchbag, nobody stopped him.'
The victim's wife added: 'He just kept punching down into Stephen's face and head. I thought my husband was going to die. Hatton was drunk and never said a word, before, during or after the attack.'
Hatton's spokesman told MailOnline the boxer denies committing an assault and 'does not accept the detail of the allegations made'.
