Ricky Burns received a hero's welcome on Tuesday night when he appeared in front of football fans at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The Coatbridge star lifted the WBO super-featherweight title against Roman Martinez on Saturday night at Kelvin Hall.
His against-the-odds achievement made the front and back pages of the newspapers, and made Burns an overnight sensation.
And he got a standing ovation when introduced to the crowd during Scotland's European Championship qualifying game against Lichenstein.
"It was a great feeling, and the response I got has made all the more determined to reign as a world champion for a very long time," said Burns.
