Ricky Burns (36-4-1, 11KOs) is not ready to call it a day, says manager Alex Morrison. Burns is now 1-1-2 in his last four fights and was upset last Friday by unknown Dejan Zlaticanin over twelve rounds. Burns struggled in all four outings - with Terence Crawford, Ray Beltran and Jose Gonzalez being the other three opponents. Burns' last impressive win was a fourth round TKO of Kevin Mitchell in September 2012.
Morrison wants Burns to begin a new chapter in his career, at 140-pounds.
"I'd like Ricky to move up to light-welterweight, where I have no doubt he could win a third world title," Morrison told BBC Scotland. "I think he definitely won't call it a day. Against Dejan he won the last few rounds easily, but the knockdown in the first round disrupted his fight plan."
