Richardson Hitchins (11-0) has had a very successful start to his professional career.  The 2016 Haitian Olympian was 4-0 last year and also picked up a unanimous decision victory in February, just weeks before the sports world was put on hold by covid-19 pandemic.

The 22-year-old native New Yorker recently appeared on his promoter Mayweather Promotions’ Instagram Live stream that was hosted by the company’s CEO Leonard Ellerbe.

"That was a once in a life time experience because I don't care if you are a world champion or what you is. You aren't ever gonna get that type of experience because it is the Olympic games. There is nothing like walking in the Olympic Village and walking past the cafeteria and seeing Serena Williams and seeing all these top players - Kevin Durant - and all these guys walking around the Olympic Village. That is a dope experience. That is one of my biggest accomplishments in life just making it to that level at a young age. I was 18-years-old when I went to the Olympic games and I really was inexperienced at that age. It just showed me my skillset as a fighter and it gave me a lot of confidence to believe in myself," Hitchins explained.

The super lightweight prospect was also asked what weight he believed he would max out to which he said, "heavyweight, no," while laughing. "I will probably fight at 160. I think I can fight at 160 probably."

He was also asked who has given him the toughest fight of his young career.  Hitchins looked back two fights and said that he learned the most in his November fight against Kevin Johnson.

"I mean I wouldn't say it was tough but they came to fight and I expected that. I would say Kevin Johnson. He was a guy who came to win and wouldn't let up till the last round. I wouldn't say he was very tough but he definitely made me see that day that I got to stay on my game or if not it can go from me just like that," said Hitchins.
