Pan Asian Boxing Association super flyweight champion Richard Garcia of the Philippines has won by unanimous decision in an eight round bout against Japan’s Kenji Yoshida at the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
The 23 year old Garcia scored his third successive win this year and improved his record to 17-10 with 4 knockouts while the 31 year old Yoshida dropped to 13-9 with 5 knockouts.
All three judges had Garcia a comfortable winner. Two judges scored it for the Filipino by a 76-72 margin while the third judge also had Garcia the winner, 77-74.
Garcia won the PABA Interim title with an 8th round TKO over Myung-Goo Yuh last July 7 in Incheon, South Korea and then won the regular title with an eleven round unanimous decision over former IBF minimum weight world champion, Thai veteran Ratanapol Sor Vorapin.
