The number two ranked contender to the flyweight crown of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Ricardo "El Matemático" Núñez (20-2-0-17 KOs), threw down a challenge to the newly crowned interim champion of WBA, Juan Carlos Reveco (27-1-0-16 KOs). Nunez returns on July 2 in Chiriqui against Nicaraguan Marlon Marquez, but wants Reveco next.
"I want a fight with Argentine [boxer] Juan Carlos Reveco. I know that with good preparation, I would take his world title, even in his own country," Núñez said. "I have studied several of his fights and I know he's a tough fighter. However, I am sure that I can defeat him. I deserve that opportunity. I've prepared for over two months for the [July] fight. I assure you that I will win by any means."
