Chihuahuan Marcos "Dorado" Reyes (33-2) is preparing in Mexico City for his commitment on July 18 against former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32KOs, which takes place at the Don Haskins Center in El Paso, Texas. The fight will be carried in Mexico by Televisa.

Reyes is being prepared by the legendary Don Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain at the Romanza Gym. Chavez Jr. is being trained for the first time by Robert Garcia. The fight is contracted to take place at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.

"It's a division where a Mexico has never won the title. The winner of this fight can become a challenger for a championship. So we are well aware of the importance for my immediate future as we enter this challenge, and we will do so with every ounce of dedication," Reyes said.

"I feel I've prepared a lot. Here we have made a great team with Don Nacho, my companions 'Piston' Lopez, Marco Antonio Peribán and Argentina 'Lobo' Rafael. I feel I have the power and the mentality to beat Chavez and break out into the international scene, which is what I've been working for my entire career."
