Marcos "Dorado" Reyes threw down some fighting words, when he called Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. a "very bad imitation of his father."

Reyes will face the former World Boxing Council (WBC) middleweight champion on Saturday night in El Paso, Texas.. Chavez Jr. (48-2-1-1 sd, 32 KOs), who attempts to bounce back from a ninth round TKO defeat to light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara in April, is taking the fight at a maximum weight of 169-pounds.

Reyes (33-2, 24 KOs) was trained by Hall of Fame coach Nacho Beristain. Both men are not impressed with Chavez Jr., the son of Mexican legend Julio Cesar Chavez.

"There are deficiencies in his defense, in his leg movements. He doesn't always throw the same ratio of punches in the same type of attack. He wants to imitate his father, by trying to fight on the inside. He's a fighter with good height and very good reach, but he always tries to imitate the style of his father, which he really can't do. Julio Cesar Chavez Sr. is what he was and always will be... That's what Julio tries to be, a very bad imitation. We must take full advantage of that.....when he tries to imitate his father - we use it to our advantage," Reyes said.
