The WBC International Silver super bantamweight champion Rey Vargas (23-0, 20KOs) claimed to be ready to defend his belt at the card “War in Metepec” on Saturday night against Filipino contender Edward Mansito, who has a record of 13 victories and only one loss.
Rey, who remains undefeated, acknowledged he will face a dangerous opponent but he is willing to get the triumph in order to be close to a tittle bout opportunity. To get this dream fulfilled, Vargas had a hard training camp.
“It is not about getting inside the ring and throwing 200 punches, it is about throwing 30 accurate punches and giving the people what they want to see,” he concluded.
Vargas also talked about the chance of facing former world champion, Abner Mares, at featherweight division in the future, as he thinks this is the final test he needs to know what he is capable of.
Vargas also highlighted that his skills and speed will help him defeat Mares. But before this fight becomes true, he assured he will get the victory this Saturday.
