In what promises to be an action-packed battle of knockout artists Rey “Boom Boom” Bautista faces undefeated Mexican Miguel Angel Mendoza  in an IBFInternational featherweight championship bout at the Hoops Dome in Lapu City on December 10.

Bautista who has won five fights in a row including a 7th round technical decision in a rematch over his tormentor  Heriberto Ruiz last June 11 is training hard for the showdown with Mendoza who has an enviable record of 17 knockouts in 17 wins with 1 draw.

The only setback  of Mendoza was  a first round technical draw in a clash with undefeated  Ricardo Alvarez (7-0-1, 2 KO’s) because of an injury suffered during the fight on August 6, 2010.

Although the 27 year old Mendoza hasn’t fought any outstanding opponent, his last win was a 4th round knockout of solid Cesar Gutierrez  who had a record of 9-4-1 with 6 knockouts last August 6.

The 25 year old Bautista is a crowd  pleaser who is ready to engage his opponents in a slugfest and has only two blemishes on his otherwise impressive ring record of 31-2 with 23 knockouts, losing to Ruiz after earlier suffering a 1st round TKO in a WBO super bantamweight title fight against menacing Daniel Ponce De Leon on August 11, 2007.
