In his most impressive win to date, Rendall Munroe (18-1, 8KOs) used his southpaw style to win a unanimous twelve-round decision over hard-punching Kiko Martinez (20-2, 15KOs) at the Barnsley Metrodome in Yorkshire, retaining his European super bantamweight title.

Martinez came out strong in the first round and began to batter Munroe early. The champion suffered a cut around the left eye, but was able to keep himself focused and would later use his boxing skills and accurate punching to pile up the points. Martinez appeared to be spent in the final two rounds as Munroe stayed on top of him and fired off combinations. The scores were 116-112, 116-113 and 118-110.

Munroe won the title from Martinez a year ago with a close majority decision. Some called it a lucky win and expected Martinez to win the rematch. Instead Munroe beat him better the second time around.
